"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me."

John 14:1

Burial Services

Franklin Roosevelt left detailed instructions for his funeral, but he deposited them in his safe without informing anyone. Only after his funeral did his family realize that he explicitly rejected much of what had been done-the embalming, the use of an expensive casket, and the grave liner or vault. He desired a rapid return of his crippled body to the elements.

The Memorial Garden...

In 1999 we at St. Luke's Church created our Memorial Garden to provide our members, neighbors and friends a beautiful and sanctified place to bury the cremated remains of loved-ones.

Today funerals have become very expensive. A family can easily spend thousands of dollars. The high cost results from commercial marketing, rather than our religious values. Our garden is a faithful alternative. The percentage of cremations in the United States is rapidly rising each year. Cremation is gaining widespread popularity for several unique reasons:

+  Simplicity & Dignity
+  More Control for the Family
+  More Family and Church Involvement
          in Services and Ceremonies

+  Environmentally Sound
+  Immediate Return to Nature
+  Saves Financial Resources for the Living

Our suggested donations for funeral services and the Memorial Garden are as follows:

  • Use of Parish Hall for Family & Friends Visitation $150
  • Funeral Service In Church $200 (Organist $150)
  • Internment $400
  • Engraved Stone $250
We would be pleased to talk with you about planning a funeral service and internment at Saint Luke's. We can help you think through the necessary arrangements before you speak to a funeral home. Should the suggested fees represent an economic hardship, you need only let us know.
